How to use the PDF Merger
Select or drop the PDF files you want to combine. They are merged in the order you add them, so add them in the sequence you want.
Check the list; remove and re-add a file if it is in the wrong place.
Click Merge & Download and save the combined PDF.
When to use it
Typical cases: putting a quote, a signed contract and a delivery note into one file for a client; combining a month's scanned receipts for your accountant; assembling a proposal with a cover letter, the proposal itself and a price list; or joining separately scanned pages of a long form.
How the merge works
The files are read in your browser, their pages are copied in order into a new document, and that document is offered for download. Nothing is uploaded, which is why a confidential contract can go through it. Page sizes are kept as they are: a merged file can mix A4 and letter pages. Bookmarks, form fields and comments in the source files are not carried across, and pages cannot be rotated or reordered inside a file here; do that in the source before merging.
Worked example
A client asks for "everything in one PDF": the signed proposal (6 pages), the service agreement (3 pages) and the first invoice (1 page). Add them in that order, merge, and the 10-page file downloads. For the accountant at month end: 23 scanned receipts, each its own PDF, merged into one file named "2026-09-receipts.pdf"; add them in date order so the file reads chronologically. If one receipt lands in the wrong place, remove it from the list and add it again at the end, or split the result with the PDF Splitter.
Common mistakes
Adding files in the wrong order. The list is the page order. Check it before merging.
Merging a scan that is upside down. It stays upside down. Fix the scan first.
Expecting a smaller file. The merged file is roughly the sum of its parts; merging is not compression.
Password-protected inputs. An encrypted PDF cannot be read and will be rejected; remove the password in the source application first.
When this tool is the wrong one
It joins whole files. To take some pages out of one file, use the PDF Splitter. To create the documents that usually get merged, the invoice, quotation and proposal generators all export PDF directly.
Good to know
Merging is done in your browser by a PDF library; the files are never uploaded, so there is no file-size or file-count limit beyond your device's memory. Page sizes and orientations are kept as they are, so a landscape page stays landscape inside the merged document. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first.
How do I merge PDF files online for free without uploading them?
The PDF Merger combines your files entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server, so there's no file-size cap tied to an upload limit and your documents stay private.
Can I control the order the PDFs are merged in?
Yes, you can reorder your selected files before merging so the combined PDF comes out in the sequence you want.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge for free?
No — since everything runs locally in your browser, there's no artificial file-count or file-size limit like many "free" merge tools impose.
